Questions surround Detroit, as they lose two weeks in a row after a lengthy undefeated streak dating back to last season. Meanwhile, Jay Cutler, Josh Freeman and Cam Newton prove once again that they’re the quarterbacks to watch this season. Add the somewhat backwards situation in Miami, and this week proved why it’s shaping up to be a great season in the NFL!

Atlanta Falcons 23, Detroit Lions 16
Detroit really needed to pull out this win, after losing their undefeated streak to the San Francisco 49ers last week. Meanwhile, Atlanta was under a bit less pressure, looking to just hold onto another win after taking the last several. RB Michael Turner turned out to be the hero for the Falcons but QB, Matt Ryan, suffered a leg injury during the third quarter. While he did only miss a few minutes and come back to finish the game, some Falcons players later accused Lions’ players of taunting Ryan while he was writhing around in pain on the field. After the meeting between the two coaches last week, this is the second week in a row the Lions have faced off-field drama.

Carolina Panthers 33, Washington Redskins 20
Washington goes into a bye week after Week 7, and they definitely need it. Rex Grossman was benched last week and although he headed back onto the field yesterday, to many fans’ dismay. Unfortunately, nothing was enough for the Redskins as QB Cam Newton stepped up for the Carolina Panthers, proving once again why he’s the most exciting player to watch in the NFL right now.

Denver Broncos 18, Miami Dolphins 15
This game on Sunday proved that even if it looks like Denver and sounds like Denver, it’s not always Denver. The stadium cheered for Tim Tebow in the ceremony honoring the NCAA championship he led the Florida Gators too, and then he went on to win this game in his former stadium too; even if he did play terribly for all but the last two minutes of it.

New York Jets 27, San Diego Chargers 21
Even though the Jets were still coming off the high of last week’s win against the Miami Dolphins. But this week they were up against more formidable opponents, and they knew it. They also knew that if they lost, they could kiss their playoff chances good-bye. But QB Mark Sanchez seemed to have his head back in the game this week, and the team finally utilized Plaxico Burress’ 6’5″ size, positioning him right near the goal line. CB Darrelle Revis made big plays too, with his interception that changed the entire course of play in the fourth quarter. Fellow CB Kyle Wilson also had a huge interception on Philip Rivers just moments after Revis’.

Chicago Bears 24, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 18
Not only was it held on the other side of the pond at Wembley Stadium in London, but there was a lot of action to catch during this game between the Bears and the Bucs.  Chicago looked like they had this one in the bag after three quarters, when they led the game 21-5. Josh Freeman tried to gain some momentum for his own team, scoring two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and passing for a total of 264 yards the entire game for Tampa Bay. Unfortunately, those four interceptions he threw undoubtedly helped Chicago win the game, as did Jay Cutler. The Bears QB scored one touchdown and had 226 passing yards.
