Van Halen Is Back

Nearly 26 years after recording the epic 1984, Van Halen is back in the studio. Reuniting for an album that is scheduled for release in 2011, Diamond Dave is back in the mix.

And there is talk of a tour. Die hard Van Halen fans believe David Lee Roth is the only front man for the band, while others feel that Sammy Hagar did a fine job. Then came the lone album debut of Gary Cherone. But we don’t need to go there. We don’t want to go there.

While fans are excited to see if the band still has “it” (hopefully without the spandex), they will have to perform without longtime bassist, Michael Anthony.

Many recall the last time the band reunited (with a rather quick undo), Anthony was passed over in favor of Eddie Van Halen’s son, Wolfgang. And things haven’t changed. The younger Van Halen will be in the studio with the rest of the gang, while Anthony continues playing bass for Chickenfoot. Fronted by none other than Sammy Hagar. Stub thinks the story isn’t over yet – with Van Halen, it never is. However, should the tour actually happen, you know where you can find your tickets.
