Hailing from McLeansville, North Carolina, the band Daughtry is a rising star that just keeps on rising. Fronted by Chris Daughtry, who was actually a finalist on American Idol, the band has become very popular since they first formed in 2005. In fact, Daughtry, who finished fourth, went on to find more success than many of the acts who finished first on the show.

The band released their first album in the fall of 2006, and it did phenomenally well. It went all the way to the top spot on the Billboard 200, and has gone quadruple platinum. Billboard named their self-titled first album the bestselling album of 2007, and was the fastest rock debut in history. The album had a number of hits, and the success propelled them on to near superstar status almost overnight.

They toured to support that album and came out with a second album, called Leave This Town, in 2009. This album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Two years later, they followed up with Break the Spell, which made the top ten. Their most recent effort, Baptized, came out in mid November of 2013 to positive reviews and a very powerful single and video for their song “Waiting for Superman”.

They are currently going on tour to support their latest album, and this is some fantastic news for new and diehard Daughtry fans alike. They are an excellent live band that puts on a wonderful show each and every time out. While you can appreciate the music on their albums, there’s a different type of connection to the artist when you are able to see them perform live.
