Syracuse QB Hunt out with broken fibula
Syracuse, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Syracuse quarterback Terrel Hunt is expected to be sidelined for the next 4-to-6 weeks because of a fractured fibula.
Hunt was hurt during the fourth quarter of Friday’s game against Louisville. He completed 17-of-32 passes for 201 yards in the 28-6 loss.
The senior has struggled throwing the ball in five games for the 2-3 Orange this season, compiling 978 yards with a touchdown and four interceptions. He has 307 yards and six touchdowns on the ground.
Syracuse has lost three straight games heading into Saturday’s matchup with top-ranked Florida State at the Carrier Dome.
Austin Wilson took over for Hunt against Louisville and also played most of the season-opener against Villanova after Hunt was ejected for throwing a punch.
The sophomore failed to complete any of his three passes last Friday after throwing for 89 yards on 11-of-17 passing against Villanova.
Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer also announced a change in the offensive staff, promoting Tim Lester to offensive coordinator and demoting George McDonald to receivers coach.
