Steve Mason made 24 saves as Philadelphia snapped a three-game losing streak at home and picked up just its fifth win of the season. Ottawa, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – Clarke MacArthur’s second-period power-play goal was the difference, and Robin Lehner stopped 26 shots as Ottawa clipped Florida, 3-2, in a Saturday matinee. Kyle Turris and Mika Zibanejad tallied early for the Senators, who have won three straight after losing five in a row. Nick Bjugstad and Marcel Goc supplied offense for the Panthers, who skidded to their eighth consecutive defeat. Tim Thomas ended up with 29 saves in the loss.

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) – Patrice Bergeron tallied a pair of goals in the third period, helping Boston to a 3-1 victory over Toronto at TD Garden. Zdeno Chara netted a first-period score and Tuukka Rask stopped 32 shots for the Bruins, who had dropped four of five coming in. Joffrey Lupul scored for the Maple Leafs, who received 31 saves from James Reimer in defeat. Toronto came to Boston for the first time since dropping a heartbreaking overtime decision in overtime of Game 7 in the clubs’ first-round playoff series.

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) – Teddy Purcell scored the winner with 69 seconds left in overtime to lead the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 3-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. Richard Panik’s hard work behind the net resulted in a turnover and from the back boards he threw a pass out front to Purcell, who gathered the puck and wristed it home for the win. Ryan Malone and Steven Stamkos also scored for the Lightning, who have won four straight and seven of eight. Ben Bishop made 25 stops in the win. Henrik Zetterberg scored both goals for the Red Wings, who have lost their past three games. Jimmy Howard gave up all three goals on 34 shots.

Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – Jason Pominville netted his 200th career goal and scored in the shootout to give the Minnesota Wild a 3-2 edge over the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena. Neither team could break a 2-2 tie in overtime. All three Minnesota shooters scored in the shootout. Zach Parise led off going in with a leg kick, moving from backhand to forehand to easily beat Jason Peters. After Riley Nash rang a shot off the post for Carolina, Mikko Koivu quickly lifted a backhand shot into the net. Chris Terry kept Carolina in it with a backhander over Josh Harding. Pominville faked Peters and slipped the puck through the fivehole to give Minnesota the shootout win. Justin Fontaine lit the lamp for Minnesota’s other goal during regulation. Harding stopped 27-of-29 shots to give the Wild their fourth win in their last five contests. Ryan Murphy and Jiri Tlusty scored for Carolina. Peters allowed two goals on 30 shots as Carolina had their win streak halted at two games.

Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – Brandon Dubinsky and Ryan Johansen each collected a goal and two assists as the Columbus Blue Jackets posted a 5-2 victory over the New York Islanders to halt a five-game skid. The Blue Jackets got three unanswered goals from R.J. Umberger, Cam Atkinson and James Wisniewski in the third period to end their longest winless stretch since an 0-5-1 rut in December of 2011. Wisniewski added an assist on the evening, while Sergei Bobrovsky aided Columbus’ cause with a 24-save effort between the pipes. The Islanders fell to 0-3-0 on their current four-game road trip despite goals from Frans Nielsen and Thomas Hickey. Evgeni Nabokov stopped 24-of-28 shots in the loss.

St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) – Kevin Shattenkirk netted the deciding goal in the middle stages of the third period, sending St. Louis past Pittsburgh, 2-1, at Scottrade Center. Ryan Reaves picked up the other goal and Jaroslav Halak came up with 19 saves for the Blues, who have won three in a row and six of seven. Jussi Jokinen registered the lone score for the Penguins, who received 30 stops from Marc-Andre Fleury in his club’s second straight setback.

Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – Marian Hossa lit the lamp twice and Patrick Sharp tallied four assists as the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Dallas Stars, 5-2, at American Airlines Center. Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane each collected a goal and assist, while Nicklas Hjalmarsson netted an empty-net goal. Chicago netminder Corey Crawford stopped 31-of-33 shots fired his way. The Blackhawks have now won five of their last six. Cody Eakin and Tyler Seguin scored for the Stars. Kari Lehtonen allowed four goals on 30 shots in the defeat as Dallas had its win streak halted at three games.

Glendale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) – Antoine Vermette scored the winner in the shootout as the Phoenix Coyotes rallied for a 4-3 win over the Washington Capitals. Vermette buried the first shot of the shootout past Michal Neuvirth and Mikhail Grabovski lost control of the puck making a move. Mikkel Boedker then flew down the ice and deked to the backhand before lifting it high into the net, and Alex Ovechkin missed his chance to give Phoenix the win. Shane Doan scored twice and Lauri Korpikoski also scored for the Coyotes, who have won six of their last seven, including four straight wins in the shootout. Mike Smith made 29 stops in the win. Troy Brouwer, Joel Ward and John Carlson all scored for the Capitals, who had won a season-high four straight coming in. Neuvirth stopped 32 shots in the loss.

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Tyler Toffoli notched two goals and an assist as the Los Angeles Kings defeated the Vancouver Canucks, 5-1, at Staples Center. Mike Richards had a goal and two assists, while Justin Williams and Jordan Nolan accounted for the other two tallies. Jonathan Quick turned aside 25-of-26 shots for Los Angeles’ third win in its past four games. Dan Hamhuis scored the lone goal for Vancouver with Kevin Bieksa and Ryan Kesler picking up the helpers. The Canucks have now dropped two of their last three contests. Roberto Luongo was chased from the net after allowing four goals on 18 shots. Eddie Lack stopped 13-of-14 shots in relief.
