Elliott’s whitewash was the fourth of the season and his 16th with the franchise, tying him with Hall of Fame netminder Glenn Hall for second on the club’s all-time list. David Backes recorded the lone score of the contest for the Blues, who recovered from losses in Chicago and Philadelphia to win for the ninth time in 12 March outings. St. Louis also moved into a tie with idle Boston for the most points in the NHL at 103. Marc-Andre Fleury made 26 saves for the Penguins, who were blanked on home ice for the first time since a similar result against Colorado on Oct. 21.

Newark, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) – New Jersey kept its playoff hopes alive with a 3-2 win over the slumping Toronto Maple Leafs, one of the teams the Devils are trying to catch. Patrik Elias, Jon Merrill and Damien Brunner each scored for the Devils, who snapped a six-game losing streak against Toronto. Cory Schneider earned the win with 21 saves. Phil Kessel and Tyler Bozak supplied the goals for a Maple Leafs team riding an untimely skid. Toronto matched a season high with its fifth consecutive loss.

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – Pekka Rinne made 29 saves for his first shutout of the season in the Nashville Predators’ 2-0 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. Mike Fisher and Gabriel Bourque scored for the Predators, who went 2-2-0 on a four-game road trip. Corey Crawford stopped 15- of-17 shots for the Blackhawks, who now sit six points behind St. Louis for first place in the Central Division.

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) – Matt Moulson scored the game-winner 2:15 into overtime, as the Minnesota Wild downed the Detroit Red Wings, 4-3, in the finale of a home-and-home set Sunday at Joe Louis Arena. Just over two minutes into the extra session, Minnesota’s Jonas Brodin threw a low shot on net from the right point that a cutting Moulson redirected past Jimmy Howard to snap the Wild’s two-game losing streak. Charlie Coyle added a goal and an assist, while Zach Parise and Jason Pominville potted a goal apiece for Minnesota, which received 13 saves from Ilya Bryzgalov. Gustav Nyquist tallied twice and Tomas Tatar recorded a goal and an assist for the Red Wings. Howard stopped 21 shots in the setback, which snapped Detroit’s three-game win streak.

Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry each had a goal with two assists, and the Anaheim Ducks got back on track with a 6-2 rout of the visiting Florida Panthers. Jonas Hiller made 28 saves for the Ducks, who snapped a four-game losing streak at Honda Center and closed to within one point of Pacific Division- leading San Jose. Sunday’s win was just the third in Anaheim’s last nine games overall. Six different Ducks players beat Florida goaltender Dan Ellis, who faced 40 shots. The Panthers lost their third straight game after beginning a four-game road trip with a win at San Jose.
