New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Henrik Lundqvist posted a 30-save shutout for his 300th career win as the New York Rangers downed the Detroit Red Wings, 3-0, at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. Brian Boyle opened the scoring just over five minutes into the game, while Chris Kreider potted a pair of third-period goals in support of Lundqvist, who tied Ed Giacomin’s franchise record with his 49th career shutout. Lundqvist, who stopped 38 shots in a 1-0 whitewash of the Red Wings on Jan. 16, now trails Mike Richter by just one win for the most in franchise history. Jimmy Howard allowed all three goals on 31 shots for Detroit, which has dropped three of its last four games.

Chris Kelly, Torey Krug and Jarome Iginla each scored a goal for the Bruins, who have ripped off five straight wins. Chad Johnson gave up two goals on 22 shots in the win. Jimmy Hayes scored both goals for the Panthers, who have lost six of their last eight. Roberto Luongo gave up four goals on 41 shots in defeat.

Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Jonathan Toews scored to a break a third- period tie and the Chicago Blackhawks edged the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 at First Niagara Center. Buffalo native Patrick Kane had the other Chicago goal and Corey Crawford made 20 saves as the Blackhawks topped the Sabres for the fifth straight time. Drew Stafford lit the lamp for the Sabres, who had their home winning streak snapped at three games. Jhonas Enroth was stellar in defeat with 29 saves.

St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) – How’s the view from the top, St. Louis? T.J. Oshie and Alexander Steen each scored in the shootout as the visiting Blues overcame squandering a two-goal lead to beat Minnesota 3-2 and end the Wild’s six-game winning streak at Xcel Energy Center. An eighth straight win against the Wild and a fifth consecutive victory overall vaulted St. Louis ahead of Anaheim for the top spot in the NHL standings. Brian Elliott had 17 saves through regulation and overtime before turning away both Minnesota chances in the tiebreaker. Ilya Bryzgalov made 20 saves in his debut with the Wild. He was acquired from Edmonton on Tuesday.

Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) – Jeff Carter had two goals and one assist and the Los Angeles Kings beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 on Sunday for their seventh straight win. Alec Martinez and Trevor Lewis also scored and Jonathan Quick made 25 saves for Los Angeles. The Kings hadn’t won seven in a row since a nine-game streak from Jan. 21-Feb. 6, 2010, in the run-up to the Vancouver Olympics. They have now won all six of their games since returning from the Sochi Olympics break. And they remain red-hot against the Oilers, earning at least one point in 21 of the last 22 meetings between the teams (15-1-6). They are 9-0-2 in their last 11 games in Edmonton. Taylor Hall and Sam Gagner scored for the Oilers, who had a two-game winning streak snapped to finish 2-2-1 on a five-game homestand. Ben Scrivens, with the Oilers since January, faced 50 shots in his first start against his former team and allowed all four goals.
