Rene Bourque got Montreal on the board with 3:45 left in the second period, while David Desharnais added an empty netter in the final minute to help the Canadiens put the brakes on a two-game slide. Reto Berra, starting between the pipes for the Flames in place of an injured Karri Ramo, stopped 25-of-26 shots in the setback, Calgary’s fourth in a row on the road.

The Senators trailed 3-1 after two periods before moving in front on goals by Milan Michalek, Turris and Jason Spezza in succession during the third. Spezza added a pair of assists and Erik Karlsson scored once while assisting on another to help Ottawa salvage the finale of a three-game road trip that began with back- to-back defeats. Robin Lehner came up with 46 saves to aid the Senators’ cause. T.J. Oshie had a goal and an assist for St. Louis, which also received markers from Brenden Morrow, David Backes and Jordan Leopold. Jaroslav Halak stopped 27 shots in the setback.

Antoine Vermette scored the only goal of the game for the Coyotes, who had won two of three coming in. Mike Smith allowed two goals on 39 shots in the loss.
