Anderson Varejao chipped in 18 points and Kyrie Irving added 17 points with 12 assists in Cleveland’s second straight win. Memphis was without Tony Allen for the third straight game and Zach Randolph missed the contest with a sore right knee. In their absence, Marc Gasol scored 23 points, pulled down 11 boards and added five assists for the Grizzlies, losers of two straight. The Grizzlies were just 1-of-16 (6.3 percent) from beyond the arc and never led.

Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Mason Plumlee posted 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Brooklyn Nets, who survived a late comeback effort by the Detroit Pistons to hold on for a 110-105 victory at the Barclays Center. Brooklyn had a 15-point fourth-quarter lead cut down to one after Kentavious Caldwell-Pope buried a 3-point shot with 9.8 seconds left, but held off the Pistons over the remainder to halt a three-game losing streak. Plumlee went 9-of-10 from the field and Joe Johnson recorded 16 points and seven assists for the Nets. Jarrett Jack, starting in place of an injured Deron Williams, contributed 15 points and 10 assists to the win. Caldwell-Pope finished with 20 points and Andre Drummond had 18 along with 20 rebounds — 13 on the offensive end. However, the Pistons couldn’t complete the rally and fell for the 17th time in 19 games.

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Luol Deng scored 23 points to lead the Miami Heat to a 100-84 win over the Boston Celtics on Sunday. Heat forward Chris Bosh (calf) missed his fifth straight game, while Dwyane Wade (right knee contusion), Hassan Whiteside (left toe) and Josh McRoberts (knee) were also inactive. Rookie James Ennis posted his best scoring game as a pro, going for 16 points to help Miami snap its five-game home losing streak and two-game losing streak overall. Norris Cole had 15 points and Mario Chalmers supplied 11 points and 10 assists in the win.

Five players reached double figures for Philadelphia as it ended a five-game losing streak. Nerlens Noel posted 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Henry Sims and Robert Covington joined Noel by posting double-doubles as well. Sims had 12 points and 12 boards, with Covington recording 11 points and 10 rebounds. Victor Oladipo led all scorers with 23 points for the Magic, who have lost four straight and six of their last seven. Despite getting 19 points and 17 rebounds from Nikola Vucevic, Orlando was outrebounded by Philadelphia 52-43.

Rudy Gay finished with 24 points and six assists, Ben McLemore had 23 points and eight boards and Darren Collison scored 19 for the Kings, who ended a five-game skid and won for the first time under interim head coach Tyrone Corbin. Nick Young had 26 points and Kobe Bryant supplied 25 points on a poor 8-of-30 shooting display for the Lakers, who have dropped their last three contests.

John Wall recorded 14 points, eight assists, five boards and three steals and Bradley Beal added 14 points and seven boards for the Wizards, who had their six-game winning streak snapped.

Roy Hibbert supplied 15 points with eight rebounds and David West netted 14 points for Indiana, which snapped an eight-game road losing streak. Mo Williams poured in 24 points with 10 assists for the Timberwolves, while Shabazz Muhammad and Chase Budinger deposited 21 and 13 points, respectively. Minnesota has lost five straight.

Oklahoma City, OK (SportsNetwork.com) – Anthony Davis had 38 points and 12 rebounds as the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 101-99 on Sunday night. The Thunder regained possession with 10 seconds left following a Pelicans shot clock violation. Russell Westbrook got the ball at the top of the arc and dribbled to the left elbow before Jrue Holiday poked it away. Westbrook got it back at the 3-point line and rose for the triple from straightaway and the ball clanked off the front of the rim. Tyreke Evans came down with the rebound after Serge Ibaka’s tip attempt was off the mark to seal the outcome. Davis, who was 16-of-22 from the field, was coming off a 3-of-14 performance from the floor during New Orleans’ 114-88 blowout loss to Portland on Saturday night.
