Hallandale Beach, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Hall of Fame jockey Edgar Prado is still recuperating after suffering an accident this past Tuesday at Gulfstream Park and was unable to fulfill his riding assignments Friday.

“He’s doing OK,” Prado’s agent Bob Klesaris said. “There was nothing career- ending or life-threatening. He had a pretty good laceration above his eye and on the corner of his eye, and he had a little bit of plastic surgery. He just looked like he came out of a prize fight. I guess, in reality, he’s going to miss three or four days. He’s already missed two, and he’s off his mounts today, so I’d say he’s day to day.”

Prado, inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008, was dumped from his mount in Tuesday’s seventh race. For the year, Prado has 97 wins from 552 mounts and $3,894,387. He is currently sixth in the riding standings at Gulfstream’s current meet with nine wins and $258,390.
