Morgantown, WV (SportsNetwork.com) – Remi Dibo scored 20 points and West Virginia made a statement in a critical Big 12 game by overwhelming No. 11 Iowa State in a 102-77 rout at WVU Coliseum. The Cyclones entered Morgantown with the Big 12’s highest scoring offense, but the Mountaineers (15-10, 7-5 Big 12) put on a shooting clinic in coming through with a victory to enhance their NCAA Tournament portfolio. West Virginia made good on 53.8 percent of its field goal attempts and went a scorching 13-of-22 from 3- point range, with Dibo knocking down 6-of-8 tries from beyond the arc. Juwan Staten nearly produced a triple-double for the Mountaineers, tallying 19 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, while Eron Harris and Terry Henderson chipped in 16 points apiece. Georges Niang paced Iowa State (18-5, 6-5) with 17 points and Dustin Hogue had 15 along with 10 rebounds. Melvin Ejim, coming off a Big 12-record 48-point outburst in the Cyclones’ win over TCU on Saturday, was held to just six on 1-of-9 shooting, but pulled down 12 rebounds.

Will Spradling scored 15 points with six rebounds and five assists for the Wildcats (17-7, 7-4 Big 12), who have won their past two — both against ranked opponents. Perry Ellis gave 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Andrew Wiggins added 16 points and five boards for the Jayhawks (18-6, 9-2), who had won their past two since a loss to Texas on Feb. 1. Naadir Tharpe scored 13 points with 10 assists in the loss.

Charlottesville, VA (SportsNetwork.com) – Joe Harris led with a game-high 19 points as No. 17 Virginia held on to defeat Maryland, 61-53, at John Paul Jones Arena. Malcolm Brogdon supplied 14 points and Akil Mitchell scored 13 points and pulled down six rebounds for the Cavaliers (20-5, 11-1 ACC), who have put together an eight-game ACC winning streak for the first time since 1982-83. Virginia has won the six straight games for the first time against Maryland. Seth Allen had 15 points and Dez Wells contributed 12 points and four assists for the Terrapins (14-11, 6-6), who have dropped two of their last three.
