Isaiah Sykes paced all scorers with 24 points for Central Florida (9-9, 1-6), which dropped its fifth straight game. Matt Williams was the only other Knight in double figures with 13 points in the setback.

Newbill scored a game-high 25 points and knocked down the game-winner late in overtime as Penn State shocked 24th- ranked Ohio State with a 71-70 triumph on Wednesday. Ohio State (16-5, 3-5 Big Ten) led by three late in the extra session when Newbill slashed through the defense late in the shot clock and converted a layup with 45 seconds to play. The Buckeyes turned it over at the other end, and Newbill challenged the league’s best on-ball defender Aaron Craft with a crossover and pull-up jumper, which hit all net with 1.9 seconds to play. Craft received the ensuing inbounds pass out of a timeout but took one too many dribbles and the clock ran out on OSU, which saw its 18-game winning streak over the Nittany Lions (11-10, 2-6) come to an end. Brandon Taylor added 19 points for Penn State and Tim Frazier tallied eight points with 10 rebounds and seven assists in the Lions’ second straight win on the heels of six straight losses to begin conference play.
