Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) – Shabazz Napier overcame a sluggish start and dropped 15 of his 20 points in the second half of No. 10 Connecticut’s 82-70 road triumph over Washington from Alaska Airlines Arena. Napier shot 9-of-10 from the free-throw line and grabbed a team-high six rebounds in the win. Ryan Boatright netted 16 points while Lasan Kromah came off the bench and provided a ton of energy en route to 14 points and five steals. Connecticut (10-1) was coming off its first loss of the season, a 53-51 heart- breaker to Stanford. C.J. Wilcox scored 19 points for Washington (6-5), which had its brief two- game winning streak come to an end. Wilcox, who surpassed 1,500 career points last time out, passed Louis Nelson and Steve Hawes for ninth place on UW’s all-time scoring list. Darin Johnson chipped in 13 points off the bench and Mike Anderson tallied 10 with seven rebounds.

Iowa City, IA (SportsNetwork.com) – Jarrod Uthoff scored a team-high 16 points and No. 25 Iowa jumped out to a gigantic early lead and pasted Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 86-61, in the final non-conference game for the Hawkeyes. Josh Oglesby netted 13 points in his season debut and Adam Woodbury added 10 for Iowa (11-2), which connected on 61.7 percent of its shots and held the opposition to 32.4 percent shooting. Tevin Hammond had 19 points for road-weary Arkansas- Pine Bluff (2-9), which has dropped nine straight after winning its first two games of the season.
