The Colonials shocked the Wildcats in the first round of last year’s NIT. Julius Randle added 10 points and 15 rebounds for Kentucky (3-1), which fell to No. 2 Michigan State on Tuesday. Karvel Anderson netted 16 points to lead Robert Morris (2-2).

Ames, IA (SportsNetwork.com) – Melvin Ejim returned to the Iowa State lineup after missing the first two games of the season with a hyperextended knee and scored 22 points to lead the Cyclones to a 77-70 upset over seventh- ranked Michigan on Sunday. Iowa State (3-0) trailed for most of the second half until Dustin Hogue’s tip-in with 6:29 left put them in front, 64-62. Michigan (2-1) went cold down the stretch, missing seven shots in a row in the final two minutes to allow the Cyclones to put the game away. Naz Long hit 4-of-6 from behind the arc en route to 16 points, while Marshall transfer DeAndre Kane netted 13 points to go with six assists. Hogue had 12 points and 10 rebounds as ISU won its 16th straight nonconference home game. The loss spoiled the return of star big man Mitch McGary, who missed the first two games of the season with a lower back injury. McGary did not have quite the same impact as Ejim in his return, compiling nine points and four steals. Nik Stauskas paced the Wolverines with 20 points and six assists.

Mann had 28 points and nine rebounds as the Belmont Bruins pulled off an 83-80 upset over the No. 12 North Carolina Tar Heels in the first-ever matchup between the teams in the Hall of Fame Tipoff tournament. Drew Windler added 16 points for the Bruins (3-1), who overcame a 16-point halftime deficit to defeat Indiana State, 96-95, on Thursday. This was the Bruins’ first-ever win against an ACC team. James Michael McAdoo scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Tar Heels (2-1), who had a streak of 82 straight home victories against unranked teams outside of the ACC snapped on Sunday.

Travis Bader tallied 22 points and Tommie McCune added 17 for Oakland (0-4), which has dropped all four of its tilts this season on the road.

Jake Odum netted 10 points with seven rebounds and five assists. Notre Dame (2-1) opened up the game leading 5-2, but the Sycamores went on a 23-6 run capped by a Dawon Cummings 3-pointer that pushed Indiana State’s lead to 25-11 with just under eight minutes remaining in the first half. Eric Atkins scored 18 points with five assists for the Irish, who trailed 40-30 at halftime. Jerian Grant and Pat Connaughton chipped in 17 and 16 points, respectively.

Elfrid Payton scored 20 points with nine rebounds and six assists for Louisiana, while Shawn Long netted 16 points with eight rebounds in the loss.
