Tucson, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) – Freshman phenom Stanley Johnson led four Wildcats in double figures with 18 points and No. 3 Arizona used a big second half run to take down Gardner-Webb, 91-65, on Tuesday. Fresh off winning MVP of the Maui Invitational and Pac-12 Player of the Week honors for the first time in his young career, Johnson shot 6-of-9 from the floor and pulled down eight rebounds for the unbeaten Wildcats (7-0). The future lottery pick has scored at least eight points in every game this season and has reached double-figures in six straight. Gabe York also scored 18 for Arizona, while Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Kalec Tarczewski posted 11 and 10, respectively. D’Angelo Russell made it a one- possession game by making a pair at the line, but Rozier’s timely trey gave Louisville breathing room for a 59-53 advantage. Following Amir Williams’ thunderous dunk, Anas Mahmoud made a free throw and Montrezl Harrell rebounded Mahmoud’s miss on the second shot to force a foul and put the game away with a foul shot with 28 seconds remaining. Wayne Blackshear had a game-high 22 points with six rebounds and three steals, Harrell finished with 13 points and 10 boards and Rozier supplied 11 points, seven rebounds and seven helpers for the Cardinals (6-0), who won their third straight game against the Buckeyes. Russell had 17 points and seven assists to pace the Buckeyes (5-1), who were coming off a 73-56 win over James Madison on Friday.

Austin, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – Myles Turner scored 14 of his 18 points at the free throw line, pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked five shots in No. 6 Texas’ 63-53 win over Texas-Arlington. Turner shot just 2-of-10 from the field, but he got to the line 17 times to make the Mavericks pay for their fouls. Jonathan Holmes led the Longhorns with 16 rebounds, and he also chipped in nine points. Texas (7-0) out-rebounded its in-state foe, 52-25. Jamel Outler and Greg Gainey each scored nine points to lead the Mavericks (3-4). Johnny Hill had five points, six rebounds and four assists.

Spokane, WA (SportsNetwork.com) – Kyle Wiltjer totaled a game-high 20 points as No. 9 Gonzaga claimed a 76-57 victory over Southeastern Louisiana in the first-ever meeting between the schools from McCarthey Center. Domantas Sabonis had 14 points and Kevin Pangos added 12 for the Bulldogs (7-0), who head to Arizona on Saturday. Joshua Fillmore picked up 14 points while DeVonte Upson and Zay Jackson added 12 points each for the Lions (2-6). Andrew Guillory totaled 10 with three assists in the setback and Upson had a team-high eight rebounds.

Coral Gables, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Deandre Burnett scored 19 points and No. 15 Miami beat No. 24 Illinois 70-61 on Tuesday night as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Manu Lecomte added 15 points and Sheldon McClellan had 14 for the Hurricanes (8-0), who have won their first eight games for the first time in five years. Rayvonte Rice had 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead Illinois (6-1) and Malcolm Hill scored 13.

Ann Arbor, MI (SportsNetwork.com) – Spike Albrecht totaled 11 points and a career-high nine assists with no turnovers off the bench as No. 17 Michigan held off Syracuse, 68-65, in this installment of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Albrecht, who became a household name when he scored 17 first-half points against Louisville in the National Championship game two years ago, broke a 63-63 deadlock when he stepped into an NBA range 3-pointer with 31 seconds to play. Michael Gbinije got a quick two at the other end, and Syracuse (5-2) had two chances to take a lead after Michigan missed two free throws but squandered both. Chris McCullough, who secured Derrick Walton’s miss from the line, overthrew Kaleb Joseph on his outlet pass. LeVert then missed the front end of a 1-and-1, but Joseph lost the ball on a drive to the basket. LeVert sank two with 4.5 to play, and Joseph’s final look from 3 hit nothing but air as the clock expired. Zak Irvin led Michigan (6-1) with 18 points while LeVert and Ricky Doyle scored 12 apiece. The Wolverines improved to 5-0 at home this season.

Ames, IA (SportsNetwork.com) – Bryce Dejean-Jones had 12 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists and No. 20 Iowa State pulled away starting late in the first half for a 96-59 win over Lamar on Tuesday. Matt Thomas led the Cyclones (4-1) with 14 points and Georges Niang scored 13, including seven during a big run at the end of the first half that pulled them out of a three-point hole. Iowa State bounced back from a loss to Maryland last Tuesday in the final of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic and collected its 23rd consecutive win at home against non-conference opponents. LeMon Gregory scored 13 points to lead Lamar (2-5), which has lost five of its last six.
