The Bruins and Blackhawks Deliver Fantastic Stanley Cup Finals

We still don’t have a winner yet in the Stanley Cup Finals, but every single game has felt like a Game 7. And whether you’re a Bruins fan, a Blackhawks fan, or just a hockey fan, there’s no denying that this final round has been one of the most exciting in years. There will be no giving up. There will be no getting tired in the third. There will be no stopping until that final whistle forces it upon them. It’s been a hard-fought series, and it’s not going to get any easier.

Out of the four games that have been played so far, only one has avoided overtime. After an exhausting Game 1 that went into triple OT before the Chicago Blackhawks won, two exhausted teams came back to play Game 2 – another game that went into OT. This time, there was just one extra period, and it ended with Boston putting the winning goal into Chicago’s net. Game 3 was a bit more subdued, with Boston taking it in regulation, but the overtime trend continued on with Game 4. That game was also the highest-scoring so far, with a collective 11 goals from both teams, Chicago having one over Boston.

Now the series is tied 2-2. The teams will head back to Chicago for Game 5 on Saturday and all we can say is, we’re glad it’s a weekend. These two teams will not give up, and the chances of seeing at least one overtime on Saturday is good. Both teams want it too much, and have worked too hard to throw in the towel now.

It’s that tenacity and that determination that have made this one of the most exciting Stanley Cup Finals in years. There is no clear winner here, just as there is no underdog. Every single player is leaving it all out there when they hit the ice, making great hits, flying up the ice, and making great saves too (we can’t forget the goalies.)

Who will finally win the Cup? In this series, no one can say. What we do know is that this Original Six matchup was highly anticipated before it began, and it has been everything fans had hoped for. This is hockey how it was meant to be, and there’s no question that these two teams are making it one of the best Stanley Cup Finals in NHL recent history.
