Samford’s Tartt invited to Senior Bowl
Birmingham, AL (SportsNetwork.com) – Samford senior safety Jaquiski Tartt was invited on Monday to become the first player in school history to play in the Senior Bowl.
This season’s college all-star game will be played on Jan. 24, 2015 at Ladd- Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Tartt’s hometown.
“I was excited,” Tartt said of receiving the invitation. “I already knew I was probably going to be invited, but it was exciting to officially get the invitation. It’s a great feeling knowing I’m going to be able to go home and play in my hometown.”
Tartt, a three-year starter at free safety, is a nominee for the Buck Buchanan Award which honors the outstanding defensive player in the FCS. The 6-foot-1, 218-pounder made The Sports Network FCS All-America first team in 2012 and the second team last year.
