Salukis add 12th game to schedule

Carbondale, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – Southern Illinois University’s football program has added a 12th game to its 2014 schedule and will open the season on Aug. 28 at home against Taylor University.

The Salukis will play 12 regular-season games for only the third time in school history (2002 and last year were the others). The schedule consists of both six home and away games.

The Salukis are coming off a 7-5 season, including 5-3 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

Taylor, an NAIA program, finished 5-5 overall and 3-3 in the Mid-States Football Association last year.
