Rangers avoid arbitration with Feliz, Ogando
Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – The Texas Rangers have avoided salary arbitration with pitchers Neftali Feliz and Alexi Ogando, agreeing to one-year contracts with both right-handers.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Feliz made six appearances and threw 4 2/3 scoreless innings last September after recovering from Tommy John surgery performed in August 2012. He owns a record of 10-7 with a 2.61 ERA in 168 games, all but seven as a reliever, since making his debut with the Rangers in 2009.
Ogando is 26-13 with a 3.12 ERA in 156 games, including 48 starts, since joining the Rangers in 2010. He was 7-4 with a 3.11 ERA in 23 games, 18 of which were starts, last year.
