Pens extend Zatkoff for 2 more years
Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – Just prior to their matinee matchup with the Calgary Flames, the Pittsburgh Penguins announced a two-year contract extension for backup goaltender Jeff Zatkoff.
The deal, which begins next season, holds an average annual value of $600,000 per year.
The 26-year-old was recalled from the American Hockey League after Tomas Vokoun was sidelined with blood clots in his hip, and has posted a 6-2-0 record, 2.46 goals-against average and one shutout in eight appearances.
