Norway’s Horgmo breaks collarbone

(SportsNetwork.com) – Norway’s Torstein Horgmo suffered a broken collarbone during a practice run for the Olympic slopestyle event and will not participate in the competition.

According to a Norwegian television station, Horgmo landed hard on his back and shoulder while attempting a jump. He was transported on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital.

The International Ski Federation (FIS) said the course would likely be altered slightly, trimming down the jumps and making the rails a bit steeper.

Horgmo was considered a medal threat for the slopestyle competition, which is new to the Olympics this year and has its qualifying session on Thursday. Medals will be awarded Saturday.
