NFL Preview – Week 5

Philadelphia at Buffalo
Yes, this one would usually be placed in the “no-brainer” category of the week’s predictions, but this competition is going to be a tough one to decide until the clock actually runs out. One look at the Eagles‘ roster should tell you that they’re a tough team to beat, but their practical applications on the field just aren’t matching up with the money they’ve invested into their players. Meanwhile, Buffalo, which is not generally known as one of the better teams in the league, is sitting at 3-1. And the Bills are returning home too, which should give them a little bit of an advantage over an already-flailing team.
Tampa Bay at San Francisco
Tampa Bay just played on Monday night, and now they’re jetting off to the west coast to play the 49ers — will all the play and travel simply leave them too exhausted for Sunday’s game? Doubtful. Even if they are a little jet-lagged, nothing seems to be able to stop this team. And that even includes playing Alex Smith as their quarterback, who’s been playing much better ever since being trashed for shoddy play in the first few weeks of the season. But they do still have Frank Gore, who ran for a total of 127 yards and scored a huge touchdown last game for San Fran. And, the 49ers were also able to rally back from a 20 point deficit last week against the Eagles. It’s looking like this one might turn out to be one of the best matchups of the week!
New York Jets at New England
It’s a case of one of the worst facing one of the best. Sure, the Jets were the one to kick the Patriots out of the playoffs this year, but none of that willpower, strength, or talent seems to be making it out onto the field this year. After losing two huge games, Rex Ryan is certainly going to be pumping his team up for this one. The question is, will it be enough, and is a little locker room butt-kicking all this team needs? From the looks of them this year, it just doesn’t seem to be.
