Nats’ McLouth to have season-ending surgery

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) – Washington Nationals outfielder Nate McLouth will undergo season-ending surgery on Thursday to repair the labrum in his right shoulder, the team announced Tuesday.

McLouth suffered the injury diving for a ball in the outfield during a game against Miami on July 28. He landed on the 15-day disabled list on Aug. 4 with right shoulder inflammation.

The 32-year-old batted just .173 with one home run and seven RBI over 79 games this season with the Nationals.

McLouth owns a .247 lifetime batting average with 101 homers and 333 RBI in 1,045 games over 10 seasons with Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Baltimore and Washington.
