Jason Pominville had the lone goal for a Minnesota team that continues to struggle on the road. The Wild have dropped seven of their last eight away from home. Niklas Backstrom stopped 32 shots in his sixth consecutive loss.

Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) – Christopher Tanev scored the tiebreaking goal midway through the third period and the Vancouver Canucks edged the Winnipeg Jets, 2-1, for their sixth straight victory at home. Eddie Lack earned the win with 15 saves in relief of starter Roberto Luongo, who departed at 16:30 of the first period with a lower-body injury. Brad Richardson picked up the other goal on a power play for the Canucks, who improved to 9-1-1 in December. Ondrej Pavelec made 23 saves for Winnipeg, which has dropped five of seven.
