Ryan Stanton and Zack Kassian scored for the Canucks, who have won four of their last five. Daniel Paille had the only goal of the game for the Bruins, who had won on Sunday to snap a six-game losing streak. Tuukka Rask gave up both goals on 28 shots in the loss.

Uniondale, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Matt Martin, Johnny Boychuk, Kael Mouillierat and Brock Nelson scored third-period goals to give the New York Islanders a 5-1 victory over the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday. Anders Lee also lit the lamp for the Islanders, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Chad Johnson made 27 saves. Mark Arcobello scored the lone goal for the Coyotes, who have lost seven in a row. Mike Smith gave up all five goals on 39 shots.

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Kevin Hayes scored the game’s only goal early in the third period, keeping the New York Rangers surging with a 1-0 decision over the Calgary Flames at Madison Square Garden. Cam Talbot also helped the Rangers earn a point in a ninth straight game by coming up with 21 saves to record his fourth shutout of the season. New York has won three straight and is 7-0-1 in its last eight. The Flames received a strong 28- save effort from Karri Ramo, but had trouble generating offensive chances in their opener of a seven-game road trip.

Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – Justin Faulk tallied a goal and an assist to power the Carolina Hurricanes to a 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday. Jordan Staal, Jay McClement and Jeff Skinner all scored, and Alexander Semin supplied two assists for the Hurricanes, who have won two of their last three games. Cam Ward stopped 23-of-24 shots in his 500th NHL game. Nicklas Grossmann accounted for the Flyers’ lone score and Rob Zepp made 31 saves in defeat.

Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – Michal Neuvirth made 45 saves and the Buffalo Sabres edged the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-2, on Tuesday. Zemgus Girgensons recorded a goal and an assist for Buffalo before hurting himself on a blocked shot. Cody Hodgson, Mark Pysyk and Chris Stewart also lit the lamp for the Sabres, who had lost six of seven coming in. Columbus goals by Kevin Connauton and Matt Calvert went for naught as Anton Forsberg remained winless in four career starts between the pipes. The 22-year-old rookie from Sweden allowed all four goals on 31 shots.

St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) – Alex Galchenyuk posted two goals and an assist to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. Brendan Gallagher had two goals while Michael Bournival also scored for the Canadiens, who have won their past two. Carey Price turned away 27 shots in the win. T.J. Oshie had a goal and an assist and David Backes also scored for the Blues, who have lost three of four. Jake Allen allowed all five goals on 23 shots in the loss.

Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) – Craig Smith scored the go-ahead goal and Pekka Rinne made 18 saves as the Nashville Predators cooled off the Colorado Avalanche with a 5-2 win on Tuesday. Calle Jarnkrok, Roman Josi, Filip Forsberg and Eric Nystrom all lit the lamp for the Predators, who are 8-1-1 over their last 10 games. Nathan MacKinnon followed up his first career hat trick with a goal and John Mitchell scored on the power play for Colorado, which entered the game with wins in four of its last five. Semyon Varlamov allowed four goals on 29 shots in his 17th consecutive start and Reto Berra made 11 stops in relief.

St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) – Ben Scrivens made Benoit Pouliot’s two first-period goals hold up as the Edmonton Oilers cooled off the Minnesota Wild with a 2-1 victory. Scrivens came up with 33 saves, including 15 during a third period that the Wild dominated but weren’t able to come up with the equalizer. Jordan Eberle assisted on both of Pouliot’s scores to help Edmonton end Minnesota’s six-game home win streak and finally solve Devan Dubnyk. Dubnyk entered Tuesday’s clash 5-0-0 with an 0.79 goals against average against the Oilers this season, but stopped just 17-of-19 shots in only the Wild’s second regulation loss in their last 14 outings. The Wild had gone 11-1-1 over their past 13 contests, which included a 4-0 rout of the Oilers in Edmonton on Friday.

Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) – Dustin Byfuglien scored the eventual game- winner early in the third period, sending the Winnipeg Jets to a 4-2 victory over the Dallas Stars. Bryan Little, Adam Lowry and Michael Frolik also lit the lamp for the Jets, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Michael Hutchinson made 26 saves. Erik Cole and Jason Demers scored for the Stars, who have lost four in a row. Jhonas Enroth stopped 21-of-24 shots.

Final Score: Chicago 3, Florida 2 (SO)

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp each scored during the shootout in Chicago’s 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers, but the Blackhawks lost star forward Patrick Kane during the game. Kane exited midway through the first period with an upper-body injury after being cross- checked by Florida defenseman Alex Petrovic. He got up under his own power after falling into the boards awkwardly, but skated straight to the dressing room. Kris Versteeg and Toews each lit the lamp during regulation for the Blackhawks, while rookie Scott Darling made 34 saves and stopped both Florida skaters in the shootout to earn the win. Jussi Jokinen and Vincent Trocheck each scored late goals for the Panthers and Roberto Luongo turned aside 36 shots in the loss. Florida has now lost six straight games to the Blackhawks and has not won in Chicago since Dec. 16, 2007.

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Jonathan Quick posted 20 saves for his fourth shutout of the season and the Los Angeles Kings stayed hot with a 1-0 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. Quick has started the past eight games and won every one of them, allowing just 13 goals during that span. Justin Williams scored the only goal of the game as the Kings have climbed their way back into the playoff chase thanks to the eight-game winning streak that was preceded by a spell of games that saw them lose 10 of 12. Jonas Gustavsson played strong in the loss as he stopped 26 shots for the Red Wings, who fell to 2-1-1 on a six-game road trip.
