The tally was his 700th NHL point and helped the Predators rebound from Thursday’s 5-2 loss to Anaheim that snapped a franchise-record, nine-game home win streak. Roman Josi and Shea Weber had goals 41 seconds apart late in the second period for Nashville, which got 30 saves from Pekka Rinne. Rinne returned to action against the Ducks after missing eight games with a knee injury. The Rangers are having to deal with the absence of their No. 1 goaltender. The club announced Friday that Henrik Lundqvist will be out at least three weeks with a vascular injury. Backup Cam Talbot stopped 20 shots and Rick Nash netted his 33rd goal of the season as New York had its three-game win streak come to an end.

Drew Doughty and Tyler Toffoli also scored for the Kings, who put an end to a three-game skid and posted their third win in their last 10 overall. Jonathan Quick stopped 26-of-28 shots. Victor Hedman and Nikita Kucherov tallied for the Lightning, who lost for just the third time in their last nine. Ben Bishop took the loss after allowing three goals on nine shots in the first period. Andrei Vasilevskiy finished the game with 19 saves.

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) – Loui Eriksson netted the winner in the latter stages of the third period and Tuukka Rask stopped 39 shots as Boston edged the New York Islanders, 2-1, at TD Garden. Patrice Bergeron recorded the other goal for the Bruins, who have won seven of their last 10. John Tavares picked up the lone score for the Islanders, while Chad Johnson made 34 saves in the loss.

Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Zemgus Girgensons tallied a goal and an assist as the Buffalo Sabres claimed their first home win of 2015 with a 3-2 decision over the Dallas Stars on Saturday. Tyler Myers and Tyler Ennis also scored, Chris Stewart tied a career high with three assists and Jhonas Enroth made an impressive 38 saves for the Sabres, who won their first game at First Niagara Center since a 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders on Dec. 27. Tyler Seguin and Cody Eakin each lit the lamp and John Klingberg supplied two assists in Dallas’ third straight loss. Anders Lindback, who was recalled from Texas of the AHL on Friday, stopped 21-of-24 shots in his first start since Jan. 15.

The Toronto Maple Leafs snapped their franchise-worst losing streak with an outburst of offense to beat the lowly Edmonton Oilers. Five different players scored to lead the Maple Leafs to a 5-1 win Saturday night, ending their 11-game skid. The goals from Richard Panik, Phil Kessel, Morgan Rielly, Mike Santorelli and Peter Holland gave Toronto its first win in almost a month. The 0-10-1 stretch was the franchise’s second-longest winless streak after a 15-game slump during the 1987-88 season that included 11 losses and four ties. James Reimer was within seconds of his first shutout of the season and second in a row against Edmonton before Luke Gazdic buried a rebound past him. Reimer made 32 saves in the win. Viktor Fasth gave up all five goals on 28 shots as Edmonton started a six-game road trip with its fourth loss in six outings.

Keith Kinkaid made 38 saves as New Jersey saw its win streak end at three games and point streak halted at six games (5-0-1).

Cam Atkinson and Scott Hartnell each posted a goal and an assist, while Mark Letestu and Nick Foligno also scored for the Blue Jackets, who have won their past two games. Erik Condra for the Senators, who have dropped their past three. Robin Lehner allowed three goals on 32 shots in the loss.

Charlie Coyle scored a first- period goal and Devan Dubnyk made 18 saves as the Wild blanked the Avalanche 1-0 on Saturday at Xcel Energy Center. Dubnyk posted his second consecutive shutout and fourth overall with Minnesota since being acquired last month. The Wild, who have won five games in a row, have shut out the Avalanche in all three meetings this season. Darcy Kuemper made a combined 46 saves as Minnesota outscored Colorado 8-0 to sweep a home-and-home series to begin the season.

Glendale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) – Tomas Tatar tallied a goal and two assists to back Petr Mrazek’s solid performance between the pipes in the Detroit Red Wings’ 3-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday. Mrazek, who was coming off a 28-save shutout of Colorado on Thursday, made 22 saves, but none bigger than his stop on Martin Erat’s penalty shot late in regulation. Darren Helm had a goal and an assist and Riley Sheahan also scored for the Red Wings, who have won three straight games and nine of their last 10. Oliver Ekman- Larsson scored Arizona’s lone goal and Mike Smith stopped 25 shots in defeat.

Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) – Two nights after giving up five goals against the Sharks, Ryan Miller bounced back with a solid performance in between the pipes. Miller made 31 saves and tied a career high with his sixth shutout of the season in the Vancouver Canucks’ 5-0 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday. Alexandre Burrows tallied a goal and an assist and Zack Kassian, Daniel Sedin, Bo Horvat and Shawn Matthias also scored for the Canucks, who fell 5-1 to San Jose on Thursday. Backup netminder Thomas Greiss got the start in place of Marc-Andre Fleury, who was coming off back-to-back shutouts, and allowed all five goals on 27 shots in defeat. Vancouver also shut out Pittsburgh 3-0 on Dec. 4.

Eric Staal, Andrej Nestrasil and Victor Rask all scored for the Hurricanes, who have won their past two. Justin Faulk had three assists and Cam Ward allowed four goals on 27 shots. Tomas Hertl had two goals and an assist, Patrick Marleau added a goal and an assist and Logan Couture scored for the Sharks, who have lost three of their last four. Antti Niemi gave up four goals on 29 shots.
