Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – James Wisniewski and Nick Foligno each scored two goals to give the Columbus Blue Jackets a much-needed 4-3 victory in Scott Hartnell’s return to Philadelphia. Hartnell spent seven seasons in Philadelphia before getting shipped to Columbus in June for fellow forward R. J. Umberger and a fourth-round draft pick. Umberger, who is in his second stint with the Flyers, spent six seasons with the Blue Jackets. The crowd gave Hartnell, who ended with six shots, a standing ovation midway through the first period when the Flyers played a video tribute of his highlights in a Philadelphia uniform. Curtis McElhinney stopped 24-of-27 shots for the Blue Jackets, who snapped a nine-game skid. Claude Giroux, Jakub Voracek and Michael Del Zotto lit the lamp for the Flyers, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Steve Mason, a former Blue Jacket, made 34 saves.

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) – Cory Schneider made 30 saves to backstop the visiting New Jersey Devils to a 1-0 win over the Washington Capitals on Friday. Schneider, who was pulled after giving up five goals in a 6-2 loss in the Devils’ last trip to Verizon Center on Oct. 16, registered his first shutout of the season and 13th of his career. Mike Cammalleri supplied the lone goal as New Jersey won its second straight after a four-game slide. The loss snapped Washington’s win streak at three games. Braden Holtby played well in defeat, making 27 saves.

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – Thomas Greiss stopped 30 shots to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 2-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday. Pascal Dupuis had both goals for the Penguins, who were coming off a 5-0 loss to the New York Rangers on Tuesday. Cody Franson had the lone goal of the game for the Maple Leafs, who had a three-game winning streak stopped. Jonathan Bernier allowed both goals on 41 shots.

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) – Luke Glendening tallied a goal and an assist to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday. Johan Franzen, Tomas Tatar and Brendan Smith also scored for Detroit, which was coming off a four-game rest since suffering a 4-3 shootout loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday. Jimmy Howard made 25 saves in the win. Patrick Kane supplied Chicago’s lone marker and Corey Crawford made 33 saves in defeat. The Blackhawks suffered their first regulation loss in Detroit since Dec. 8, 2009 and had registered a point in 12 straight games, dating back to the start of the 2011-12 season.

Sunrise, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Islanders gave up a goal, but they extended their winning streak. Kyle Okposo scored the decisive shootout goal as the Islanders beat the Florida Panthers 4-3 on Friday. The second New York shooter, Okposo deked and slipped the puck past Roberto Luongo. Jaroslav Halak then turned away bids from Jussi Jokinen and Brad Boyes to secure the extra point. John Tavares, Ryan Strome and Nikolay Kulemin scored for the Islanders, who posted their fifth straight victory and tied a franchise record by winning 11 of their first 16 games. Halak, coming off consecutive shutouts, finished with 35 saves. The Panthers erased a 3-1 deficit in the third period on goals from Brian Campbell and 2014 No. 1 draft pick Aaron Ekblad. Luongo stopped 31 shots for Florida, which has dropped four of its last five games.

Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) – Martin Hanzal notched a hat trick and Devan Dubnyk posted a 35-save shutout to lead the Arizona Coyotes in a 5-0 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Friday. Keith Yandle had a goal and two assists while Shane Doan also lit the lamp for the Coyotes, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Ryan Miller allowed all five goals on 23 shots for the Canucks, who had won four of five coming in. Hanzal scored his first goal at 14:56 of the first period as Yandle brought the puck down the right wing and passed it over to the left circle, where Hanzal wristed it home.
