Final Score: Philadelphia 3, Los Angeles 2 (OT)

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – Brayden Schenn’s controversial goal with 2:24 remaining in overtime lifted Philadelphia over Los Angeles by a 3-2 count on Tuesday. Schenn skated in all alone from the hosts’ side of center ice in the neutral zone and shot low, but while Kings netminder Jonathan Quick smothered the shot with his pads, the puck was loose for a second. Schenn made a hard stop in the crease and the force of covering the rebound pushed Quick into the net with the puck presumably over the goal line. The original call did not indicate a goal, but upon a conference of all four officials plus a brief review, the on-ice decision was overruled, giving the hosts their third straight victory. Michael Raffl and Chris VandeVelde also lit the lamp while Jakub Voracek added a pair of assists for the Flyers, who received 38 saves from Ray Emery. Tyler Toffoli and Mike Richards scored for the Kings, with Quick making 40 saves in the setback. The defending champs saw their season-high six-game win streak come to a halt.

Final Score: Anaheim 1, Chicago 0

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – Devante Smith-Pelly’s third-period short- handed goal and 38 saves from John Gibson led Anaheim to a 1-0 victory over Chicago at United Center. Gibson improved to 5-1-0 for his career and recorded his second shutout for the Ducks, who have won eight of their first 10 games on the season.
