Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – William Karlsson scored his first two NHL goals in the Anaheim Ducks’ 5-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. Corey Perry, Matt Beleskey and Ryan Kesler also lit the lamp for the Ducks, who improved to 2-1-0 on the young season. Frederik Andersen made 11 saves. Tyler Ennis scored the lone goal for the Sabres, who have yet to win in three games this season. Michal Neuvirth stopped 39-of-44 shots.

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Steven Stamkos scored his first three goals of the season as his hat trick led the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 7-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens at Amalie Arena. Victor Hedman had a goal and three assists, Vladislav Namestnikov and Ryan Callahan each posted goal and an assist and Ondrej Palat also scored for the Lightning, who have won two of three to start the season. Ben Bishop posted 16 stops in the win. Brendan Gallagher scored the only goal of the game for the Canadiens, who lost their first game of the season after starting it with three straight wins.

Sunrise, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Clarke MacArthur scored the game’s only goal and Craig Anderson made 30 saves to shut out the Florida Panthers in a 1-0 victory for the Ottawa Senators on Monday. MacArthur’s goal at the 15:34 mark of the second period, in addition to Anderson’s whitewash, helped Ottawa finish off its season-opening road trip with a 2-1-0 record. Roberto Luongo made 22 saves for the winless Panthers, who went 0-for-3 on the power play.
