West Long Branch, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) – Monmouth University announced Tuesday it has scheduled games against a pair of Mid-American Conference opponents – the Hawks’ first-ever matchups against FBS-level programs.

Monmouth, a Big South Conference member in football, will visit Central Michigan on Sept. 12, 2015 and then play at Kent State on Sept. 17, 2016.

“As we continue to increase scholarships, playing FBS opponents is something that we look forward to and are excited about,” Monmouth coach Kevin Callahan said. “We currently have FBS opponents scheduled in 2015 and 2016, and we are looking into potential opportunities for 2017 and beyond.”

Monmouth has a 5-1 record this season.
