Miller joins O’s, who send Webb down
Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) – Left-handed reliever Andrew Miller joined the Baltimore Orioles before Friday’s game against Seattle, a day after being acquired in a trade deadline deal with Boston.
To make room, the Orioles designated right-handed reliever Ryan Webb off the 25-man roster.
The Orioles gave up pitching prospect Eduardo Rodriguez to acquire Miller, who is due to be a free agent at the end of the season. He had a 2.34 ERA in 50 games for the Red Sox this season with 69 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings.
Webb, who signed a two-year contract in December, had a 3.80 ERA in 42 games this season.
