Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – Raven Lee poured in 27 points to lift the eighth-seeded Eastern Michigan Eagles to a 73-67 victory over the No. 5 Bowling Green Falcons in the second round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament at Quicken Loans Arena.

Mike Talley contributed 21 points and five assists for the Eagles (21-12), who will advance to take on Toledo in the next round. Karrington Ward also made a major impact with a double-double of 15 points and 10 boards.

Jehvon Clarke and Richaun Holmes netted 18 points apiece for Bowling Green (20-13), which also received 13 points off the bench from Zack Denny.

The Falcons went into the break trailing, 40-39, despite knocking down 56.5 percent of their field goal tries before the break. EMU outscored Bowling Green, 15-9, from 3-point range and held an 18-12 advantage in total rebounds in the first period.

The Eagles were limited to 31 percent efficiency from the floor after halftime, put managed to pull away by outscoring Bowling Green, 11-1, at the charity stripe and committing zero turnovers. The Falcons were guilty of seven miscues over the final 20 minutes of regulation.

EMU finished with a 20-5 advantage in second chance points.

Final Score: Akron 58, Western Michigan 45

Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – Kwan Cheatham Jr. registered a double- double with 11 points and a game-high 10 rebounds as he helped lift the Akron Zips to a 58-45 win over the Western Michigan Broncos in the second round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament at Quicken Loans Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the seventh-seeded Zips (20-13) were Reggie McAdams and Antino Jackson with 15 and 10 points, respectively. With the victory, Akron will now battle third seed Kent State in the third round on Thursday night.

As for the sixth-seeded Broncos (20-13), they were paced by Thomas Wilder with 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench. David Brown led the starters with nine points, but shot only 1-of-10 from the floor in the setback.

WMU led by three points early in the meeting, but the Broncos managed to shoot only 6-of-29 from the floor in the first half, en route to a 27-20 deficit at the break.

In the second half both sides made just eight field goals, but while the Broncos came up empty on seven tries beyond the arc, Akron was 6-of-14 from 3- point range, allowing the Zips to grab the double-digit win.

Akron outscored WMU on the perimeter by a 36-6 margin.
