Manning throws 500th career TD pass
Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) – Another week, another milestone for Peyton Manning.
Manning became the second quarterback in NFL history to throw for 500 touchdowns in Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Manning hooked up with tight end Julius Thomas for a 7-yard score on 3rd-and- goal at the 4:43 mark of the first quarter to get to the 500 mark.
“I guess you can’t help but just take a couple moments and you go down memory lane a little bit,” Manning said of reaching the benchmark. “I don’t think there’s any players still playing (who were playing) when I threw my first touchdown, but it’s interesting, two coaches on Arizona’s sideline were both there my first game when I threw my first touchdown: Tom Moore and Bruce Arians. And I give both of those men a lot of credit for helping me improve as a quarterback.”
Manning finished with four TD tosses in the Broncos’ 41-20 win over the Cardinals.
Brett Favre holds the all-time record of 508 TD passes.
