Kingston, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – Chris Hemmerich moved two strokes ahead of the field on Saturday with the third round of the Great Waterway Classic suspended due to darkness.

Hemmerich was 7-under par through 15 holes of round three and stood at 17- under par overall. This is just the third PGA Tour Canada event that Hemmerich has played in.

Kelvin Day is two strokes off the lead at minus-15. He was 3-under par after 13 holes of his third round at Loyalist Golf and Country Club.

Tomas Cocha was the clubhouse leader at 14-under-par 202. Cocha fired a 66 on Saturday. He was joined at minus-14 by Michael Gligic, who was 5-under par with one hole to play in his third round.

Ted Brown (66) and Beon Yeong Lee (67) are tied for fifth at 13-under 203. They were joined there by David Bradshaw, who was minus-3 through 13 holes.

Micah Burke, who shared the lead with Day when the second round was completed earlier Saturday, was 1-over par through 13 holes. Burke dipped to 11-under par and was tied for 11th.

Hemmerich got off to a quick start with birdies on the first and third. After a par on No. 4, he converted back-to-back birdies at five and six to get to 14-under.

The Canadian parred four in a row from the seventh. Hemmerich again made consecutive birdies at 11 and 12. He birdied the 15th to move two clear of Day before play was called for the day.

Day started with a birdie on the first and followed with a pair of pars. He stumbled to a bogey at the fourth, but came right back with an eagle on the fifth.

The Englishman moved to 15-under with a birdie on the par-5 seventh. Day parred six consecutive holes from the eighth before play was halted for the day.

NOTES: Hemmerich finished 35th at the Staal Foundation Open, which was his only other made cut on the PGA Tour Canada … Gligic is the only player in the top seven on the leaderboard that has won on the PGA Tour Canada … The second round was completed earlier Saturday after a lengthy rain delay on Friday morning pushed things back.
