The Green Bay Packers of Wisconsin have a long and storied history, and they’ve been the home of some of the best players in history. They are actually the third oldest of the NFL franchises, having started all the way back in 1919. An interesting fact about the franchise is that they are the only community owned and non-profit professional sports team in the United States today. Long ago, this was actually common. Many smaller towns and cities had their own franchises. Today, it seems as though it’s all about the power of the corporation. The Packers are the only real holdout of a bygone era.

Over the years, the Packers have won and amazing 13 league championships, which is more than any other team in the NFL. Nine of those championships were before there was even a Super Bowl. They won four Super Bowls as well — 1967, 1968, 1997, and 2011. They have always been an exciting team to watch, and that holds true today as well. Fans of the team know well their fierce rivalries with the other teams in the NFC North, including the Vikings, Bears, and Lions. Whenever they play the Bears, the games are especially fun to watch since the rivalry dates all the way back to 1921.

Some of the most famous Green Bay Packers include Bart Starr, Jim Ringo, Reggie White, and Brett Favre. Aaron Rodgers is making a name for himself as the resident QB right now. The Packers current record is 5-6-1, but despite the record, fans are still adamant about the quality of their team. The “Cheese Heads”, as they sometimes call themselves, are still utterly loyal to their team.

If you are a fan of the Packers and you love to watch exciting football, it’s time you got up off your couch and headed down to Lambeau Field. The Packers still have some games left this season, you want to do yourself a favor and see them play live. There’s something special about being at the stadium and screaming along with tens of thousands of other fans who love the team. Get your tickets today!
