Gardner-Webb loses linebacker to injury
Boiling Springs, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – Gardner-Webb will be without All-Big South Conference linebacker Chad Geter for the remainder of the season because of an undisclosed injury.
Geter, from Irmo, South Carolina, was the team’s leading tackler in its first three games, but he did not dress for Gardner-Webb’s 43-36 win over Wofford last Saturday.
The 6-foot-2, 238-pound junior is expected to return for the 2015 season and the school said he plans to apply for a medical redshirt to try to regain another season of eligibility.
Geter has 23 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception and one quarterback pressure this season. In 25 career games, he has collected 135 tackles, including 14.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
Gardner-Webb (2-2) already has played all four games without another injured linebacker, Tanner Burch.
