Formula One legend Schumacher hospitalized after skiing accident

(SportsNetwork.com) – Formula One legend Michael Schumacher has been hospitalized with a head injury after a skiing accident on Sunday.

According to the official Formula One website, Schumacher was wearing a helmet when he fell and injured his head in the French Alps.

“Michael suffered a head injury in a private ski trip in the French Alps,” a statement from Schumacher’s spokeswoman Sabine Kehm said on the Formula One site. “He was taken to hospital and is receiving professional medical care.”

Reports have indicated that the seven-time Formula One champion sustained a serious head injury, although there have been indications that his life is not in danger.
