Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly on Monday confirmed that quarterback Nick Foles has a fracture in his clavicle and added that linebacker DeMeco Ryans has an Achilles injury.

Though Kelly wouldn’t speculate on the severity of the injuries, Ryans’ turned out to be a season-ending one, as the Eagles placed the veteran on injured reserve later in the day.

Kelly said both players went for MRI exams on Monday afternoon, with multiple reports indicating that Ryans tore his Achilles during Sunday’s win over the Houston Texans.

The second-year head coach didn’t speculate on Foles, who didn’t return to Sunday’s game after falling hard on his left shoulder in the first quarter.

“He has a crack in it, but we don’t know the extent of it,” said Kelly about Foles.

An NFL.com report later stated that Foles’ injury will not require surgery but is expected to sideline him between 6-to-8 weeks.

Mark Sanchez took over for Foles and helped the Eagles to a 31-21 victory, finishing the contest 15-of-22 with a pair of touchdowns and two interceptions in his first action since 2012.

“I feel really bad for Nick, but I’m confident about Mark,” said Kelly on Monday. “He knows the system. His preparation is outstanding, always ready. We feel real confident, if Nick (is out for any length of time.)”

Ryans was hurt in the fourth quarter after intercepting a Ryan Fitzpatrick pass. He fumbled while falling to the turf with no one around him, then left the field on a cart.

The Eagles signed safety Chris Prosinski to fill the available roster spot. A fourth-round pick of Jacksonville in 2011, Prosinski played in 48 games with nine starts for the Jaguars before being released with an injury settlement in September.
