Hallandale Beach, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – More than six months after his last stakes effort, 4-year-old Revolutionary will return to top flight competition when he starts in the Donn Handicap at Gulfstream Park on Sunday, Feb.9.

“He breezed well and everything’s on schedule,” trainer Todd Pletcher said. “As you would expect for the Donn, it’s a Grade I and it’s going to be a tough race, but we’re looking forward to it.”

The 1 1/8-mile Donn will be Revolutionary’s first stakes since finishing fifth to Palace Malice in last June’s Belmont Stakes. The colt, owned by WinStar Farm, won his 2014 debut at Gulfstream on Jan. 11 by a half-length as the 3-10 favorite.

As a 2-year-old he broke his maiden in his fourth start and followed by winning the Withers Stakes and Louisiana Derby as a 3-year-old. A third in the Kentucky Derby was then followed by the Belmont Stakes’ effort.

Revolutionary has won four of nine career starts for $1,047,600.
