Carcillo returns to Chicago
Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – The Chicago Blackhawks and forward Daniel Carcillo have agreed to terms of a one-year contract.
Financial details were not disclosed.
Carcillo played for the Blackhawks from 2011-13 and was a member of the club’s Stanley Cup championship team in the spring of 2013. He was released by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday after attending camp on a tryout basis.
The 29-year-old veteran split the 2013-14 season with the Kings and Rangers, ironically the two Stanley Cup finalists last spring. He notched four goals and one assist with 100 penalty minutes in a combined 57 regular-season games, then added two goals in eight Stanley Cup playoff games for the Eastern Conference champion Rangers.
In 390 career NHL games, Carcillo has 44 goals and 92 points with 1,179 penalty minutes. In addition to the Blackhawks, Kings and Rangers, he has also played for the Coyotes (2006-09) and Flyers (2009-11).
Carcillo was originally selected in the third round of the 2003 draft by the Penguins.
