Oldsmar, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Bond Holder, scratched from Saturday’s Risen Star Stakes, has been nominated and will make his 3-year-old debut in the Tampa Bay Derby at Tampa Bay Downs. The colt is one of 57 3-year-olds nominated to the $350,000, 1 1/16-mile race.

The top two from the track’s Sam. F. Davis Stakes, Vinceremos and Harpoon, will likely renew their rivalry in the March 8 Kentucky Derby prep. They are part of the 18 horses nominated to the event from the stable of trainer Todd Pletcher.

The Tampa Bay Derby, part of the “Road to the Kentucky Derby” Championship Series, awards 50 points to the winner, 20 points for second, 10 for third and 5 for fourth.
