Baseball releases schedule for 2015
New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Major League Baseball announced its 2015 schedule on Monday.
Play will begin Sunday, April 5 with a stand-alone contest between a pair of undetermined teams on ESPN. A full slate of 15 games will follow on Monday, April 6.
A total of 12 divisional contests are on the docket for Opening Day, while an interleague matchup will feature the Red Sox and Phillies in Philadelphia.
World Series rematches from three of the last six seasons will also highlight the interleague schedule. The Phillies will be part of two of those — hosting the Tampa Bay Rays in a 2008 Fall Classic rematch from July 20-22 with a visit to Yankee Stadium for a 2009 World Series rematch against New York from June 22-24. The other recent World Series rematch pits the Giants and Rangers in Arlington from July 31-Aug. 2.
Baseball’s 86th All-Star Game will take place Tuesday, July 14 at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
The final day of the 2015 regular season will be Sunday, Oct. 4.
