Swimming is always one of the most-watched sports during the Summer Olympics; and this year in London is no different. So who’s taken home what in swimming so far?

Nathan Adrian, Michael Phelps, Cullen Jones, and Ryan Lochte
There was a lot of talk about how this team “lost” the 400 meter freestyle relay on Sunday, but each of them still took home a silver medal. This medal was #19 in total for Phelps, making him the most winning Olympic athlete ever in history.

Ryan Lochte
Sunday was a big day for Lochte. He also won the gold medal for the 400 individual medley, adding to the other four that he’s earned previously.

Nathan Adrian
Not wanting his U.S. teammates to have all the time in the spotlight, Adrian also won his second medal from the London Olympics; and this time, his was gold, too! Winning the 100 meters freestyle final on Wednesday, Adrian is the only American that’s won the gold in the event for almost 25 years.

Brent Hayden
After all the rough starts that he and his team have had, Brent Hayden for Team Canada has finally taken home a medal. Winning the bronze in the men’s 100-meter freestyle, Hayden can honestly say that all of his demons are behind him.

Jiao Liuyang
From China, Liuyang won her first gold medal today during the women’s 200 meter butterfly. Although it may be her first Olympic title, competition is nothing new to her. She also won the world championship last year.

Daniel Gyurta
It’s a record-breaking year! During the men’s 200-meters breaststroke, Gyurta didn’t just take home the gold, but also broke the previous world record, set by Australia’s Christian Sprenger in 2009, with a finish of 07.28 seconds.

Of course it’s the Olympics. And with events starting every second it seems, there are a lot more medals out there and a lot more to cover. But so far, these are the best swimming stories of the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
