Vonn crashes in downhill training
(SportsNetwork.com) – Olympic downhill champion Lindsey Vonn, in the midst of a comeback from a serious knee injury, was being evaluated for injuries after crashing during a training run Tuesday in Colorado.
U.S. Ski Team spokesman Tom Kelly told SportsNetwork.com the crash occurred at the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper Mountain.
“She is being evaluated to determine if there are any injuries, as is standard procedure. We’ll have a report once we know more,” Kelly said.
Vonn, who was eyeing a return to competition later this month at Beaver Creek, Colo., was not admitted to the hospital.
In February, she tore the ACL and MCL in her right knee during a crash at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Austria.
She won the women’s downhill at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and took bronze in the Super-G.
