Taylor Swift Releases “Begin Again”

Following the release of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” Taylor Swift’s first single from her upcoming album Red, Taylor now “begins again.” And for fans who were disappointed with the pop sound of “Back Together,” they’ll be happy to know that in “Begin Again,” Taylor’s gone back to country.

In this latest single, Taylor talks about two things she knows best: happy love, and sad love. Comparing two boys, she talks about one boy that didn’t think she was funny and burned and broke her. Thinking that “all love ever does….is end,” she then meets a new boy. This one pulls her chair out for her, does in fact think she’s funny, and shows her that things can always “begin again.”

Jake Gyllenhall, Taylor Lautner, Adam Young, Conor Kennedy…all are just a few of the names racing through fans’ heads as they try to figure out who the two love interests are. Of course, Taylor never actually tells us outright, but everyone can take away the same message.

“It’s actually a song about when you’ve gotten through a really bad relationship and you finally dust yourself off and go on that first date after a horrible break-up, and the vulnerability that goes along with all of that,” she told Good Morning America yesterday when she previewed the song.

The album Red from which the song is on is Taylor’s fourth studio album and will be released on October 22, 2012. Until then she’s expected to be releasing previews of other songs on GMA over the next several weeks.

Listen to “Begin Again” here and then buy it on iTunes – it went on sale today! Now let’s hope for a Taylor Swift tour soon!
