Taylor Swift Goes on the Road in 2013

Taylor Swift, the 23 year old country music sensation, kicks off a tour of the United States this March 13th at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha Nebraska.

Taylor was raised in Pennsylvania but moved to Tennessee at 14 years of age in order to pursue her dream of becoming a music star. After performing at football games and sporting events to get experience performing in front of large crowds, she signed a contract with Big Machine Records, and her third single made her the youngest person to write and perform a number one song on the country music charts.

Early Success and a Bright Future

Taylor’s debut album established her as an up and coming star and her second album, Fearless, was released in 2008. She also received her first Grammy nomination in 2008 and Fearless went on to become one of the best-selling albums of 2009, on the strength of the singles “Love Story” and “You Belong with Me”.

Swift’s 2010 album, “Speak Now” sold over a million copies in the first week of release, and she supported it with a tour that lasted more than a year and spanned four continents, including Europe and Asia. The third single from the album, “Mean”, earned Taylor two Grammys.

Taylor’s fourth album, titled “Red”, also had an opening week of more than a million sales. The lead single “We Are Never Getting Back Together” became her first Billboard Hot 100 number one, and was a hit around the globe.
