Park improves lead atop rankings

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – Inbee Park topped a stellar leaderboard in Taiwan and that helped her improve her lead atop the world rankings.

Park replaced Stacy Lewis as the No. 1 player in the world last week. Park topped Lewis and No. 3 Lydia Ko to win the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship. Park’s lead over Lewis improved from 0.23 average points to 0.54 average points.

Park, Lewis and Ko remained the top three players, and they were again followed by Suzann Pettersen.

Shanshan Feng finished sixth behind Park and she inched up a spot to No. 5 and that bumped Michelle Wie down to sixth. Karrie Webb and So Yeon Ryu also exchanged places with Webb up to seventh.

Hyo-Joo Kim improved one to No. 9 and Lexi Thompson slipped one to 10th, while Anna Nordqvist remained No. 11. Kyu Jung Baek and Cristie Kerr flip-flopped the 12th and 13th positions.

Sun Ju Ahn stayed put at 14, while Azahara Munoz improved one to 15th. That pushed Na Yeon Choi down to 16. Mirim Lee moved up to 17 and that one spot improvement pushed Paula Creamer down to 18.

Amy Yang finished fifth in Taiwan and she jumped five places to 19th in the rankings, while Angela Stanford stayed put at No. 20. Yang’s move pushed Brittany Lincicome out of the top 20 and down to 21st from 19th last week.
