Nick Jonas Returns, and Michael Urie Begins, Broadway Show

How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying has been big on Broadway since March of this year. But with the New Year comes new cast members, and there are some pretty big names thrown into the mix.

The biggest of those is Nick Jonas, who will be coming back to Broadway to pick up the lead role of J. Pierrepont Finch on January 24, 2012. In the brief time prior to Jonas’ return, Darren Criss from Glee will be playing the role of Finch, from January 3 — 22. On that same night that Jonas takes the stage in the hit comedy, so too will Michael Urie, playing the role of Bud Frump. Urie has recently been making his name in Off-Broadway productions such as The Cherry Orchard and Angels in America.

Along with the new additions, the show says goodbye to two cast members. Daniel Radcliffe, who is most known for his role in the Harry Potter movies, has been playing the lead role of Finch, but he’ll give up the role on January 1, 2012. John Larroquette has been one of Radcliffe’s sidekicks, playing the role of J.B. Biggley. This role will be taken up by Beau Bridges, as of January 3, 2012.

The musical is an interesting, and entertaining, look at a young man who’s trying to get something for nothing — success! Armed with only a book and a lack of motivation, J. Pierrepont Finch tries to get it all, while barely lifting a finger to get it. With a fantastic singing and dancing numbers, a cast that oozes talent, and a charming storyline, How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying is sure to be a success in 2012 — without even trying!
