NFL Recap: Week 11

Houston nearly lost against a much lesser team, and needed to go into OT to pull out a win against Jacksonville; while Philadelphia clearly struggled without Michael Vick. And as always, Baltimore and Pittsburgh put on a good show as both teams fought hard for one more win in the rivalry between these two teams.

Houston Texans 43, Jacksonville Jaguars 37 (OT)
This game seemed like an easy win for the Texans from the outset, but throughout the entirety of it, it looked like Jacksonville could emerge the winner. On the side of the Texans, it was Andre Johnson’s 48-yard overtime touchdown from a pass from Matt Schaub that clinched it. But this game was not easily won, with Chad Henne throwing for 354 yards and four touchdowns for the Jaguars; and Justin Blackmon also scored, as well as had seven catches for 236 yards.

Baltimore Ravens 13, Pittsburgh Steelers 10
Unlike the Houston/Jacksonville game, everyone knew this one was going to be a hard-fought game. And it was. The Steelers only got one touchdown in total, and that was in the first quarter by quarterback Byron Leftwich. Leftwich also only had 18 of 39 for 201 yards, and he threw an interception. The Ravens didn’t put in much of a performance either, but too many mistakes made by the Steelers gave them a win with this one.

Washington Redskins 31, Philadelphia Eagles 6
Without Michael Vick, this is what you get in Philadelphia. At least for now. With Vick still out with a concussion, rookie quarterback Nick Foles stepped up to take the place. It was his first NFL start, and let’s just hope he’s not discouraged by it. Foles was 21 for 46 for 204 yards, and threw two interceptions. He was also sacked by the Washington’s offense four times, and had three fumbles to boot. And where the Eagles lack in offense, the Redskins come out on top. RG3 completed 14 of 15 passes for 200 yards, and scored four touchdowns of his own.
