NFL Preview – Week 13

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
These two teams are pretty evenly matched, and it’s a critical one for both teams if they want to make the playoffs. Cincinnati right now is tied with the Ravens, who currently hold the divisional lead; and that leaves Cincinnati and Pittsburgh fighting for the two wild card spots. With Pittsburgh slightly ahead in the standings (at 8 — 3 as opposed to Cincinnati’s 7 — 4) it looks as though they might take it. Cincinnati has also formed a bad habit of pulling off comebacks when they’re behind in the game. That’s something they’ll need to change before facing the Steelers on Sunday if they want to hold onto their playoff hopes.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Houston Texans
The Houston Texans have had a tough go of it due to injuries this season and this weekend, they’ll start their third quarterback in three games. That honor goes to T.J. Yates, who by the way, has never played in an NFL game. With that being said, Houston is going to need to rely heavily on its defense, which shouldn’t be too hard considering that they’re the top-ranked defense in the league. Atlanta’s defense, while improving, is still only ranked ninth in the league so all of their strategy will have to be focused on taking advantage of Houston’s inexperienced offense.

Green Bay Packers vs. New York Giants
Looking at the stats and rankings across the board, it’s easy to call this one before one cleat steps onto the field. The Giants have a terrible defense and the Packers have an outstanding everything. But in particular, their offense is especially terrific. Even playing an away game, this will not be the one to take away Green Bay’s undefeated streak.
